Comté is a traditional French cheese made from raw cow’s milk. It is a cooked pressed cheese with a firm yet smooth texture and a rich, rounded flavour.
The taste is full and aromatic, with pleasant nutty, buttery and slightly savoury notes. Depending on the maturation, Comté can develop extra depth and complexity, while remaining elegant and balanced.
This cheese is perfect for a cheese board, on fresh bread, in sandwiches or melted in warm dishes. Its firm texture also makes it excellent for slicing, grating or serving in small pieces as part of a tasting platter.
